To work in Russia, a foreign student must be over 18 years old. According to the law, foreign students studying at Russian universities can work without obtaining a work permission when they are studying as full time students and they have temporary residence permit connected with education (РВПО)
It should be taken into account that:
- foreigners are not allowed to hold the position of chief accountants or any other positions related to the accounting at a Russian company;
- only foreigners with a residence permit or a temporary residence permit can keep the accounting positions;
- foreigners cannot be hired for municipal or state service and for work related to ensuring the security of Russia.
When applying for a job, a foreign student must bring the following documents to the employer:
- Passport or other identity document and its copy with notarized translation;
- book of employment history (if you have any);
- insurance certificate of compulsory pension insurance(«СНИЛС» in Russian abbreviation);
- taxpayer identification number («ИНН» in Russian abbreviation),registration, and migration card;
- policy of medical insurance valid in the territory of the Russian Federation;
- a document on education and/or qualifications or special skills (only when applying for a job that requires special skills or training);
- certificate from the university where a foreign citizen studies on a vocational training program;
- certificate of presence (absence) of a criminal record.
