On 8 November, the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam held an online meeting with Russian universities
Vice-Rector for Research and International ActivitiesAlexander Dobrovolsky and Head of the International Projects Department of the International Cooperation Department Maria Kuzko took part in the online conference with the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam with Russian universities.
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the promotion of Russian education in Vietnam and attracting Vietnamese applicants for admission to universities of the Russian Federation.
«Vietnam and Russia have a long-standing and trusting relationship» said Counsellor Doan Khac Hoang, Second Person of the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia. At the end of October on the sidelines of the BRICS+ meeting in Kazan, the leaders of Vietnam and Russia paid special attention to cooperation in education. President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Pham Minh Tinh expressed confidence that education will be an integral component for the further development of bilateral relations.
In the course of the meeting, measures to strengthen co-operation with Vietnamese higher education institutions were discussed and proposed. Moreover, representatives shared experience of interaction in recent years and proposed a promotion plan about continuing to attract Vietnamese students to Russian universities.
Alexander Dobrovolsky and Maria Kuzko presented St. Petersburg State Forest University and proposed directions for future co-operation in forestry education. Also, they expressed interest in joining SPbFTU into the Russian-Vietnamese Consortium of Technical Universities.
