Cooperation between Saint Petersburg State ForestTechnical University and Vietnam reaches a new level
From 26 October to 1 November 2024 Head of International Cooperation Directorate Svetlana Tereshchenko visited Vietnam.
The main purpose of the visit was to attend the Asia-Pacific Management Accounting Association (APMAA) conference and act as one of the leading speakers at the plenary session.
The event was held at the Vietnam National University (VNU). The main organiser was the Institute of Economics and Business.
The conference was covered by Vietnam's leading news media, scientists from 30 countries participated in panel discussions and interactive sessions.
New partnership: Saint Petersburg State ForestTechnical University and Vietnam National University join forces in education
Negotiations with Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy, Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Audit of the Institute of Economics and Business, and Nguyen Duc Bao, Head of International Service were held during the visit.
As a result of the discussion it was decided to sign a cooperation agreement between SPbFTU and the Institute of Economics and Business of VNU which includes planes to organise online courses for Vietnamese students, conduct joint summer and winter schools, and exchange teachers.
New opportunities for the scientific and educational exchange
On 29 October, Tran Dai Lam, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Tropical Technology of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, initiated a meeting to establish business contacts with the Institute of Chemical Wood Processing and Technosphere Safety. During the meeting, the issues of applying for joint scientific projects were raised.
On 30 October 2024, a meeting was held with Vu Duong Luan, Head of International Service of the School of Interdisciplinary Studies at VNU.
During the business negotiations the possibilities of co-operation in the field of landscape architecture and the prospect of concluding an agreement between the universities to exchange teachers and students and participate in joint projects were discussed.
The day was followed by the meeting with Hoang Van Sam, Head of International Service of Vietnam Forestry University, Vu Huy Dai, Head of Research Office and university, and employees which are graduated from SPbFTU.
It was decided to extend the co-operation agreement between SPbFTU and Vietnam Forestry University during the visit. As the university celebrates its 60th anniversary in November 2024, SPbFTU received an official invitation to the anniversary celebrations.
Lecture from SPbFTU expert for Vietnamese students
On 31 October Svetlana Tereshchenko gave an lecture on the topic «Analysis of financial statements: how to analyze the company's activity on the basis of financial statement figures» for the students of VNU. The lesson was held for 3rd year «Accounting» students. Based on these meeting, an agreement was made to hold an online course on «Financial Statement Analysis» for students of the Vietnam National University.
At these time there were also a meeting with SPbFTU alumni. During the meeting a proposal was put forward to establish an Association of SPbFTU Alumni in Vietnam
